FNUSA-ICRC (International Clinical Research Center of the St. Anne’s University Hospital Brno, Czech Republic) was only established recently, in the year 2011.

The center is based on a successful and long-running cooperation with the Mayo Clinic (USA) and other partners both in the Czech Republic and abroad.

However, cooperation between FNUSA-ICRC and partners in Europe is rather underdeveloped. Moreover, FNUSA-ICRC is still a relatively newly established institution and, as such, has not sufficiently embedded itself within the wider research community, especially in the European Research Area (ERA).

The target of the ICRC-ERA-HumanBridge project is to change this situation dramatically through its activities which are grouped together in 9 work packages.

At the end of the project, FNUSA-ICRC shall benefit from:

  • Wider cooperation with other research institutions in the European Union.
  • Increased research potential thanks to new scientists and technologies.
  • Improved cooperation with industrial and business partners.
  • Increased awareness about the ICRC and its activities among both professionals and the general public.

The project in numbers

  • 40+ new researchers for the ICRC.
  • 217 twinning exchanges - mutual visits aimed at strengthening of FNUSA-ICRC partnerships.
  • 38 partner institutions involved in the project.
  • 10 international conferences and workshops organized thanks to the project – with a projected uptake over 3500 participants.
  • 100 presentation by FNUSA-ICRC staff and their research results at international conferences all around the world.
